I know, I know... this is kind of a delayed post. The Provo Canyon fire was a couple of weeks ago and I just haven't posted the really neat pictures that Eric and I got when we decided to drive up the canyon to Park City. We decided to stop on the way down to watch the helicopters fill their tanks and buckets in the Provo River.
This is the fire right above Bridal Veil Falls. The little dot in the sky is the helicopter.
This is the close up of the helicopter lifting off after filling up its tank. I'm going to try and get some of the video that we got posted. Right now, my connection is deciding to be slow and not upload my video.
This is video of the helicopter taking off and flying overhead to dump his load onto the fire. I must apoligize for the shakiness, I took this with my small digital camera and it's a little harder to hold it steady. It's pretty cool though. It reminds me of a very loud and large firefly when it flies overhead.
