Arachnophobia

I hate spiders. I HATE SPIDERS!!! So, yesterday evening Eric and I were sitting outside reading and enjoying the beautiful weather. I kept hearing a noise to my left, and being paranoid about spiders anyway, I kept getting distracted from my reading. At one point when I looked over I saw a spider that was larger than a quarter! I am NOT joking. It was huge!! I ran downstairs and grabbed our bug spray and sprayed and sprayed him. The bug spray states that it kills on contact, but I wanted him to drown in the stuff. It was dusk outside at the time so I lost sight of him as he ran off. This morning I went outside and was curious to find him... and he better be dead. Well, I found him. Here he is. Dead like he should be.I shudder every time I see this and don't ask my why I actually took a picture of him. I just did. But that's not all. I had to turn him over to see if he had any markings. So first I blew on him to make sure he was dead and then I grabbed a LONG stick and turned him over.
Now I told you he was bigger than a quarter alive. To give you a little more perspective to his size, he's about the size of a quarter now!!!!
Gross! I was curious to find out what kind of spider he was, if he was venomous or not. I found a spider identification chart on line and found out that he's a funnel web grass spider. Supposedly he's a non-aggressive spider... yeah right! I don't care what kind of spider you are, you will die! EEEEWWWW I just looked at him again, and I'm done.

  2. so I guess you would not appreciate the fact that when I see black widows I put them in a jar and watch them for weeks. I think they are totally cool. It's ants I can't stand.
