Well, I got off of work early on the 20th and started to run down the stairs to our apartment when out of the corner of my eye I spot a snake. But this snake was not our normal neighbor who lives at the top of the stairs. No... This snake scared the crap out of me for two reasons. The first, I was not expecting a snake on my steps, that one is obvious. I think I jumped up and then while in midair slammed my body sideways into the side of my house. The rest of the steps to the door where all a blur. The second reason why he scared me was because he was A LOT BIGGER than our regular snake. Sure I've seen bigger snakes than him, but this one was on my territory and I wasn't sure if he knew
the whole, you leave me alone and I'll leave you alone bit. As soon as I got into the house I grabbed my camera to snap some shots of him, mainly to show my dad. He HATES snakes!
Upon further examination of this creature who dares to invade my space, (Apparently he hasn't spoken with any of the spiders around the house... oh wait, they're all dead!) my nerves calmed down a little bit. He was going to pose for my pictures. I wanted to compare his length with something when he decided to start slithering across the step. He stretched out almost the whole entire length of the step, so he was about three to three and a half feet in length! He slithered all the way to the other corner of the step and stopped to
take a look at me. I took this time to talk to him since we was looking at me. I told him I didn't mind if he stayed on my steps, I just asked him not to come down any further.
I decided that he and I did have the understanding that we'd leave each other alone. I walked back into my apartment, closed the door tightly, and put my camera away. Thinking to myself, I knew Eric was planning on coming home any time now for lunch, I should probably text him so that he knew there was a big snake on the steps. It would probably suprise him too to see a snake on our steps just chillin. I went back to open up my front door and check on the snake's status only to find him gone. As quickly as I came, he had vanished. At least I have proof that he exists. I hope I don't see him again, on my steps, waiting to scare me. Now that I think about it. When he was sitting there looking at me, he was probably laughing inside. I'm sure I looked pretty funny when I jumped a mile into the air and into the side of the house. Now that's a picture I would like to see!

Sunday night I looked at your blog right before I went to bed. That night I had a CRAZY nightmare about having snakes in my basement. Now I'm scared to go in my basement. So....thanks! :)
